Mastering Your Machine

These classes are intended to help you understand your machine better. The costs of the classes are included with the purchase of a machine and are required by the selling dealer. There is a $50 fee per session for students who did not purchase their machine from The Sewing Store. Registration is required for attending Mastery Classes.

This class will cover the basics of all current 8 Series, 7 Series, 5 Series, and 4 Series models. Before attending these classes, please find the workbook you will need for your machine in the images to the right, and click the image to download and print the workbook. Bring your workbook and all of the accessories that you have with your machine to the first class. The fabrics to make samples will be supplied to you.

Schedule and Topics

All classes meet from 10 AM to 3 PM with an hour break for lunch.

Day 1: Preparing to Sew ~ This class will cover the set-up of your new machine.
Supplies - Sewing machine, accessories, workbook (in a 3-ring binder), bright colored thread, basic sewing supplies. Do not forget to bring your lunch and a drink with a lid.

Day 2: Stitch Fun ~ This class will cover basic sewing techniques and buttonholes.
Supplies - Sewing machine, workbook (in a 3-ring binder), bright colored thread, basic sewing supplies. We will be using the following presser feet ~ #1/1C/1D Reverse Pattern, #10/10D Edgestitch, #8 Jeans, #2A Overlock, #5 Blindhem, #20/#20C/#20D Open Toe Embroidery, #3A Automatic Buttonhole, #18 Sew-On Button. The fabrics will be supplied.

Day 3: Creative Options ~ In this class you will learn how to use the Combi-Mode and BSR. The afternoon session will cover features exclusive to the Plus and Pro machines.
Supplies - Sewing machine, workbook (in a 3-ring binder), bright colored thread, basic sewing supplies. We will be using the following presser feet ~ #1/1C/1D Reverse Pattern, #20/#20C/#20D Open Toe Embroidery, # 42 Bernina Stitch Regulator, #9 Darning. The fabrics will be supplied.

Day 4: Embroidery features ~ This class is for any machine with an embroidery module.
Supplies - Sewing machine with embroidery module, Embroidery workbook (in a 3-ring binder), bright colored thread, basic embroidery supplies, large oval hoop, #26 Teardrop Embroidery foot. The fabrics will be supplied.

No Mastery Classes are scheduled at this time. If you are interested in Mastery Classes for your BERNINA machine, please contact us. We only schedule these classes when there is sufficient interest.
